Horses mainly react to their immediate needs. Therefore, we must ensure time is spent where we become a source of wellbeing for them in order to increase their confidence and complicity. It falls to us to create the horses' need to be with us.
Here, in a few words, is the basis of my philosophy.
If many people expect a method, I, personally, prefer to speak of the philosophy of approach and training.
Each horse reveals its own behaviour, directly linked to its lineage, to its relationship with man and often to its past.
In my research, I take the time to observe my horses, one by one, to understand their rhythm, their anxieties or their expectations.
I find it impossible to use the same training method, so different are the behaviours and the reactions in one horse to another.
Certainly, I follow principles which years of experience have enabled me to establish, but they are no more than ways of progression, adapted to to each individual.
In studying the inner nature of horses, and the characteristics they have acquired throughout years of domestication we can adapt our attitude and our demands more effectively.
